I am a little confused. Babies are not supposed to have milk until they are a year old. Can they have yogurt? If you are in the U.S. then you are probably familiar with a brand of yogurt with the word "baby" in its name. It even has pictures of infants on each cup. Some other mothers said that they use it to help gassiness in their babies.
What do you gals (and guys) know about this?

Hm, I've never heard no dairy under a year. They're not supposed be switched from formula or breast milk to whole milk until a minimum of 9 months (preferably not until a year, though), but I think once they start to eat solid foods, yogurt should be fine. Cheese is also recommended once they begin eating finger foods.
I have heard of the yogurt you're talking about, I think it's called "yo baby", and I think a lot of parents like it because of the portions that they give you. It's easy to just pull out of the fridge, open the container and feed to baby. I'm not sure if there are any other benefits to giving baby that kind over any other kind of yogurt. My son has a milk allergy (which I believe he's outgrowing), so we don't give him yogurt yet but if I did, I would just feed him whatever we eat.

I've been giving my son yogurt for a long time, and they say its good to keep them from getting yeast infections on thier butts... that they sometimes get. He likes it, and I just give him what I eat.

DS started getting yogurt when he was 8 months old. We bought the stuff for babies, but also were able to find greek style yogurt. It's thicker because it's strained and has much more milkfat than regular yogurt. We had issues with DS gaining weight and since he LOVED yogurt, we'd shovel it in :)

I feed my daughter the regular stuff for adults because it's cheaper and she LOVES it! Good probiotics in it! ;)

Jen, I feed my 7 month old the baby yogurt and she loves it. Yogurt isn't one of the "high allergy risk" foods so if your baby likes it, let him or her have it!

Yes, you can use yogurt, starting around 9 months, as long as you've never seen signs of milk sensitivity or allergy.
