I was tested for HIV over 4 months after my exposure. I had unprotected vaginal sex. The town I live in is not very knowlegable about HIV. The doc said I could test again after a year. I am wondering that if they use 1st gen Elisa test is 4 months long enough to show? I have read that it is. Anyone have any knowledge?

Even if a first generation Elisa was used, if you were infected it would have shown up by 4 months. Even an earlier Elisa test is VERY sensitive. You are OK!! No HIV!!! But wear condoms from now on!! Be happy and be safe.
