I'm so scared and this has been freaking me out for over two years now (yes, I know...pathetic). I am a bi male, 24 years old. I have never had ANAL sex, but have done mutual masturbation and given/received oral sex (I have never had someone sperm in my mouth...or even come close). Here goes...
Two years ago, I had the stomach flu. Very mild fever and nausea/vomitting over the course of about 16 hours (not a full day). The next day I was better. A couple days later, I saw that my tonsils were slightly swollen and red. Worse, both had white stuff all over them(coming from the tonsil crypts). I got pretty freaked. I also had a very mild sore throat. No rash, no fever (except when I was throwing up lol), no swollen lymph nodes, etc. There were no other white or red marks/blemishes anywhere in my mouth. Within 3-4 days the white stuff was gone and my tonsils went back to normal size and color.
Fast forward one year. I believe (although now I can't remember very well) that I either burned or injured my tongue. 2 weeks after that, while eating some chocolate I noticed a pink mark on my tongue. I panicked. It was on the top of my tongue, near the front, and to the left. It was c shaped, and the white tip (keratinization) of the tongue there appeared to be gone. It felt velvety. There was also a crack in my tongue right there. Anyways, I watched it for the next 2 weeks. Slowly, the whitish coating of the tongue in that spot came back, and everything was normal. I had no pain or sensitivity on the mark, but it did go away on its own.
Fast forward another year. I recently had mild itching in my left armpit. When I looked at it, I saw a well defined pinkish/reddish blotch in my armpit. Not knowing what it was, I put lotion on it and left it alone. It started to fade but then came back 3 days later. I started putting baby oil on it. The red went away completely leaving the blotch brown (there was no itching since I discovered the blotch). Fast forward two weeks and the brownish mark was still there, but it felt rough. Upon a closer look, I noticed the brownish skin could be peeled off. I did so and under it was very pink skin (like when you peel a sunburn, ya know?). The pink has faded away and the rash seems to be fading very slowly (I used hydrocortisone today and it seems to already be helping).
Am I infected? My mind is telling me that I have had thrush (on the tonsils only?), erythematous candidiasis and seborrheic dermatitis. My rational side is saying that things like the thrush and erythematous candidiasis wouldn't go away on its own if my immune system was compromised due to HIV. PLEASE help me. I am so scared, and I am too frightened to take a test. If I came back positive, I don't think I could live. Thank you and please help me, don't talk down to me and make me feel worse.
