It's a percentage over ideal body weight ... I think it's 20%, but I'm not 100% sure. So if your ideal weight is 150 pounds and you weigh more than 180, you are medically classified as 'obese'.

The weight that one becomes "obese" at is different for every person. It relies on age, height and body fat. One way to figure out if you are obese is to measure your Body Mass Index (BMI) and if it is over 30 then you are considered class 1 obese. Your doctor could probably refer you somewhere to have it measured.

I think I count as obese. I am not very tall for I seem heavy. It could be my build and in my genes.
