My husband and I are expecting a baby within the next few months. The day after I found out I was pregnant, I was raped by an old friend. I didnt tell anyone, and tried to put it out of my mind. To make a long story short, there was penetration, but he pulled out to ejaculate. I know the risk from one time exposure is small, but I also dont know his status, and will NOT contact him to find out.
My question is this: Because of the pregnancy, I was screened for ALL stds, including HIV. I was tested 80 days after possible exposure. I know 12 weeks is enough time, and my dr. says twelve weeks is 84 days, so there is no need to retest. I worry about the baby, and from reading postings here, I feel paranoid, but know I am not the only one. Just looking for some reassurance. I had no signs of ARS I am aware of, except when my wisdon tooth began coming in 4 weeks post-exposure, and was tired and feverish, but figured it was the tooth.
Is the 80 day test enough??
Thanks!!
