I will be a new mother soon and currently taking note of all opinions and things i should know about babies.
I would like to know some of the top reasons your newborns and infants cry. And what are some illnesses that babies get when infants such as ear infections, constipation etc.?

Oh, the top reasons are hunger, dirty diaper, comfort, having trouble falling asleep on their own, gas.....
You really have to look at signs and symptoms for other reasons.
Some babies have colic and are hard to console.
They may have problems with the formula you are using but they will show signs like throwing up a lot (not spitting up) and having issues with BM's.
If you are breast feeding you need to see if they are getting enough and monitor what you are eating.... gassy/spicey food transfer to breastmilk, so if you had spicy food lastnight, don't be surprised if your baby is screaming after a feeding. Signs of gas are drawing their legs up.
As far as illness....like an ear infection, most of the time they start out with congestion. Babes are nose breathers. if they are tugging at their ears when the get a little older, take them in. Odds are it's that. Anytime they have a fever newborns and infants have to be seen right away.
Any time you feel something is going on call your dr. Mother's instinct is the strongest and you will know when the time comes. Good luck. You will do just fine "pink"

This is solely based on my 1 baby boy.
1. hunger (always has been a top reason)
2. tired (came along more around 2mos)
3. upset at changes on waking mid-night (no longer in my arms, being fed, etc)
Really my son has never been upset about dirty diapers.
Possibly now at 4 mos he gets upset occasionally at boredom, or me leaving.

Pink, all babies are different. My DS almost never cried, unless he was hungry or sick. He was such an easy baby.
My DD is a completely different story... cries when she's wet, when she's hungry, when she's tired, when she's not being held, when she is not getting 110% of my attention, when her milk's too cold, when she's bored - pretty much all the time! And just when I'm ready to give up, she'll smile and at me and say "mama" and it makes it all worth while.
Bottom line is, your baby may never cry or may cry all the time, and its not necessarily a reflection of your parenting skills, so when they cry don't take it personally. You'll be surprised how strong mommie instincts are! ;)

Thanks for all your help i will keep all these signs in mind its funny because im not worried about the scar parts of giving births right now it seems like thats the last thing on my mind. All im worried about is making sure baby gets what he needs and be ok. I want to take care of him the best i can.

Hi Sweetest ~ Just always keep in mind that babies cry because it's the only way they can communicate as newborns. It's their language. It can be quite frustrating at times to figure it out, but I always remembered in the back of my mind, "Ok, she's new to this world!" I had a checklist:
1. hunger
2. burping
3. diaper
4. tired
5. too hot/too cold
6. bored!
7. overly stimulated - sometimes my daughter just wanted left alone
Now my happy, smiley baby will be one tomorrow...It's a little sad and exciting all at the same time. Your first year will fly by! ;)
