Hi
My father has recently been diagnosed with a secondary cancer on his liver, no primary has been found to date. He has always been a very predictable and conservative eater but since the cancer diagnosis has taken to eating lots of bananas throughout the day and is eating alot more chocolate than he ever has. His only comment is that he feels like it. Other than the diagnosis he is in good health, fit and active.

I have been searching for any reference to food cravings relating to cancer but have yet to find anything. Does anyone here know whether a craving for bananas and chocolate could be the bodies response to a lack of something?

thanks

I think chocolate has a lot of magnesium and bananas have a lot of potassium.
I don't know if that has any correlation to the cancer but it is curious.
Also, cancer loves sugar...You can search about the high metabolic rate of cancer cells, insuline potentiated treatments, and all the cancer diets restrict sugar.
I hope I did not make you more confused.
