Hello Everyone,
I had pttd surgery with a cancanel osteotomy 8 weeks ago. I've found this site and the posts to be invaluable.
I was given a boot a week ago today. The transition from walking cast to boot has been slow. I'm experiencing something that's difficult to describe...it feels like there is a horizontal bar in front of my heel - just before the arch begins. Putting pressure on my foot increases the sensation. There's a foam heel plate in the boot. I've adjusted it, but it didn't make a difference. I'm wondering if anyone experienced anything like this?
Thanks in advance,
Denise

I didn't experience that (or even have the same surgery) but when I told my doc of the pain in my heel with the boot he put in a soft orthodic. It's not perfect, but a lot better than it was. Have you mentioned it to your doc or pt? Maybe they'll have a solution that's quick and easy like adding an orthodic support. :)
