Hi All
Ive been losing my hair for about 2 months now, over this time it has been getting worse to the point that im scared to even brush or comb my hair. Ive been to the doctors on numerous occasions over the past few weeks, had blood tests which all came back clear and was told i was proberly suffering from stress and it would stop when i learnt how to deal with my stress. The only thing that is causing me stress is my hair loss and thats because my hair is sooooo thin, everytime i wash it, comb it etc i get handfuls of hair, whenever i wear dark tops theres just a mass of fallen out hair down my back. Sorry if it seems like im waffling but im really down about this at the moment but i really would like some advice on what i could do as the doctors dont seem to want to know
Kind Regards

Are you on any type of medications? Many of them can cause hair loss. If you're not, then I agree with the previous poster that it could be hormonal.

You could actually be having hair loss from the pill. Did you start losing hair shortly after starting it? I know I lost a lot of hair when I was on the pill, at least a quarter of it. It was an absolute nightmare, thankfully it stopped when I stopped taking it. As for the PCOS, I'm not too familiar with it, only that it stands for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. A gynecologist could maybe diagnose you. As a side note, I think that when doctors can't figure out why someone's losing hair, they quickly chalk it up to stress. However, stress can make hair loss worse, so try and stay calm.

Try a lotion called Ziravie.
The lotion that I use helps to accelerate hair growth but it is a a process first it calms the scalp, itching reduces, then with discipline use hair fall stops, within 3 weeks of use the hair roots strengthens and you start to see volume and silkiness

Monkie,

Yes, you may want to consider coming off of it. I don't know your age, but as we get older, our own natural hormones change, and I think that sometimes this can have an effect on how our body reacts to a given pill, even if you've been on it for years. Have you talked to your gynecologist about it? What does she/he say?
