My daughter has reflux and I have to assume that she doesn't love solids because of this; however, she cries when I try to give them to her. It is SO stressful. Sometimes I can get them in her if she's distracted (by the tv, singing, etc.); however, tonight, she cried, I stopped feeding her. She did fall asleep shortly after this and I know she won't eat solids if she is too tired. When do I feed these to her? I do one in the morning and more than 50% of the time, this one she eats. I can't get her to eat at night now. It's even harder because (due to the reflux), she only drinks bottles when asleep. So, it's a constant game during the day to get her to take short cat naps so that I can feed her. We've got it pretty well worked out now; however, all of this makes it challenging to feed her. I just worry that she should be taking solids so well now and doesn't and maybe she won't get to where she can take these and table foods. Any advice?

I say wait it out. There really is no "perfect" age as to when a baby should be getting solids. If she's not truly ready, then she'll let you know, which it sounds like she's doing. I think that if she wants to eat solids in the morning and this goes well for both of you, then just stick with that for the time being. We do oatmeal with fruit...my daughter just turned one and still loves it!
As long as your daughter is getting enough formula, then I wouldn't really push the issue. When she starts to look at your food and grab for it, then you know it's time! ;)

For the first month our daugther had solids she would eat them off the pacifer. She hated the spoon and it was the only way. I would also use my (clean:) finger some days too. Oh, everyone always said cereal first but she still won't eat cereal or oatmeal off a spoon, have no idea why because she will drink them in a bottle and eat all other veggies and fruit but just not cereal.

Thanks for the advice. I am trying different things. I am back to using the bouncer instead of the highchair because she doesn't cry in that. She has started to cry when sitting in the highchair. I give her toys and then she is fine. I give her food, she cries. She took some food last night (stage 2 of strawberry, banana, and apple) and took it again this morning. I hope that she likes food. I am afraid that she should be taking this better than she does now. She has a little friend that is 1 month older than her that eats solids very well and will take anything (including table food) that is given to her. However, she likes it so much that she stopped taking milk. So, she is getting most of her nutrition from food and my daughter is doing well drinking milk (30 or more ounces a day).
