I have been having open sores in my mouth for a while now but didn't think anything of it until I kissed a guy who I later found was HIV+. What are the risks?

MaryJ 05-13-2003, 04:10 AM Anyone know what kind of risk I was at? anyone 05-13-2003, 09:18 AM Hi MaryJ: Even with the sores, you are still at a very low risk, unless: The HIV+ person ALSO had open bleeding sores in his mouth. One thing you have to understand is that saliva has been proved to have certain properties that result hostile for the virus, tat is, it does not survive well, so that's why your risk comes as still low. I undertsand your worry, and sometimes the only way be free of that, is to get a test. I'm just concerned that most doctors you go see will tell you that you dont even need to test. I hope everything improves for you. |
