The orthodontist realigned my nightguard (until the new splints are made) and had to do this by adding a resin type material on the outside of it then shaving it to fit. I have an upper night guard.
Quite a bit of resin was added and it almost touches the tops of my bottom teeth. The other night just as I was falling asleep, I got the sensation that something is in my mouth and I automatically started chewing. This woke me up and then I noticed what was going on.
Should the night guard be that close to my bottom teeth that I have the urge to chew on it because it feels like a foreign object in my mouth. The other thing is that this night guard is fairly loose and doesn't really fit correctly this is just a quick fix, so I guess unconsciously I'm afraid I'll choke on it.
Just wondering if anyone else had this experience.
