-rusty- 05-15-2003, 09:15 PM -- [This message has been edited by -rusty- (edited 05-28-2003).] Jakesc 05-15-2003, 09:55 PM Rusty, Simply put, you can't prepare yourself. Quite frankly, everyone here is or has been in a similar boat. The problem is, we can anly wait for enough time to pass to see if we are positive or negative. 3 weeks is simply not enough. It was enough time for me to get tested though anf get an "indeterminate result" which essentially meant they couldn't prove one way or another. I started to resaerch things on the web and went nuts over it (not quite over yet but getting there). 3 weeks after the first test, I needed a second opinion. I took a "home access" test which resulted in a negative. Still not sure, I took a second one at about 2 weeks later (about 8 weeks in total so far), it too was negative and about 4 days after that, I had a follow up visit with my which also resulted in negative. You would think that I wouldn't be concerned, however, 90 days is what is said to be 99.99% effective for testing. I have about 10 days left. In short, get tested. and to quote others on this board, after 90 days, believe it. I'm not a paranoid individual, in fact, I'm quite the opposite. Don't get cought up in the "symptoms". You don't even know her status. normorcrazy 05-15-2003, 10:33 PM Rusty, as said before there is no preparing yourself. Just keep reminding yourself if you hear the results are + it doesn't have to change your life. I will be praying that everything is ok. Try to hang in there!! |
