Is there a way for the CDC to know if you are infected? I am still puzzled as to why they told me to retest at 6 months and they didn't the other guy. I called two seperate times and got the same response.
Do they know something that I do not? I know this girl was of unknown status to me (not a prostitute by the way), I used condoms but I did perform unprotected oral on her. I tested negative at about 19-22 weeks after my exposure but it still bugs me that the woman on the hotline told me to test again. She did say I was at low risk, but are they hiding something? Do they really know our status based on called id? Thanks for the replies

I don't think you need to worry about that. Most people just like to recommend you go all the way to the 6 mo date after exposure. Even though most cases show within 3 mo there are still few that don't. Sounds like just a precaution!!

On any given day you can get different answers regarding testing at 3 or 6 months. The CDC sets 6 months because they need to cover every possible situation. If you tested -ve at 3 months it is over 99%certain that you will test -ve at 6 months.
