I just got a tattoo recently on my mid lower back and now i'm having headaches and feel very dizzy and i've been feeling so tired. I asked them if they use clean needles and they said they were one of the cleanest places. I started getting bumps on my arm, my stomach etc. I'm afraid what if they accidently forgot to use the clean needles? What if the guy used the same needle as before??? I'm so worried because i'm feeling really dizzy and tired after getting the tattoo. I'm also already thinking about removing it because it turned out so hideous. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif Has anyone got hiv from getting a tattoo??? Or is it possible to contract the disease from getting it? I saw him opening the second needle from a sterle bag but not the first needle for the outline. What if he forgot and remembered all of a sudden and then got the second needle out for the color?

How long ago did you get it? You can be infected this way, though it's very low risk. I would recommend for future, if you get more, always make sure you watch them open the needles!! Like hospital equipment, they sterilize their stuff. The only reassurance for it being sterilized is to watch them open it. If it were me I would definitely get tested at the appropriate times, though I don't think you should have too much to worry about.

Sounds a little bit paranoid. It would be remotely possible to get HIV this way, but I don't think it has already happened. Don't worry.

I agree with normocrazy, yes...transmission through contaminated needles may occur, but this is very remote, unless you are actively pursuing it (like IV drugs and stuff)...I would say the risk that a tattoo would bring, is not HIV, but rather an exposure to possible Hepatitis.
This is something health authorities warn people about, but if it was a reputable place (with a business license and all), I would say your risk is minimal. Keep it up, I think you will ultimately be fine from this one.

They told me that they always use clean needles, etc and they would never do anything to ruin their reputation but maybe theyre just saying that. And they do have a business license and they told me that if something happened to someone, their license and business will be taken away. But i have been just feeling so dizzy and weird. People tell me that I always over react and i get really paranoid but there is always a what if chance , ya know? http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif I have bad luck with a lot of stuff and i mean, the tattoo eevn t turned out so ugly that i'm planning to get rid of it. What do i do? Im really stressing over this.
