Well, I was back to the doctor today, like he said to come back if my symptoms didn't get better after wearing the braces a few weeks. Last time he said my next step would be to go to the orthopedic surgeon and get shots in my arms. Today he didn't mention that but sounded instead like I should maybe have surgery. Now he prescribed another anti-inflammatory (I forget the name) and said if it's not better in 2-3 weeks to call and they'll refer me to orthopedics. I'm hoping that if it's not better and I do get referred, the orthopedic surgeon will agree to try giving me a shot first before we go the surgery route because of my husband and I not having insurance. We're at the bad place to be, no insurance but yet the income just is a little too high to qualify for medical assistance.
Oh, and today he mentioned to me not to sleep with my arms above my head. Has anyone ever heard of that?

Hey there! I hope that your hands get better in the next two weeks. Hopefully it is nothing too serious. I have heard of people not sleeping with their hands over their head. When you sleep like that it disrupts the blood flow to your hands.....and it will cause them to go numb themseleves just from lack of blood flow and not the CTS. So yes...sleep with your arms down beside your or across your chest. i find it difficult to sleep on top of my hands which is what i love to do when I sleep on my side.
