Hi everybody

I am scared and depressed ,have not tested for over a year,3weeks after I had protected sex with this gal,I started to have itching around my mouth and in my pubic area(thought she gave me crabs or something)followed by the worst sinus infecton possible, coincident with that came a slightly itcht out break around the head of my penis, over the next few months in succesion came bumpy outbreaks that itched like crazy on my thigh,a raw skin in my groin(convinced it is herpes),diarrhea(mainly moving bowels very frequently with some mucus),tingling and numbness in my arms and legs, followed by sharp stabbing pains in both arms and legs from finger toetips to wrist and ankles, hands and feet turning cold and warm, oral ulcers that came and went ,itchy bumpy rash on my chest and back, all through this the highest my fever went was 99.5 althoough I knew I was having chills as well, occasional nightsweats. My resting heart rate went up from 55 to 100 and intense fatiguejoin5t aches all around, couldn't function or think properly.Symptoms have lasted at least 9-10 months ,have started to calm down now but have an occasional day when the skin on my hands gets a red bumpy rash, that burns and leaves my skin in the area numb, also have been nauseous(never before ) headaches off and on that feel like shooting stabbing pains accompanied by a bumpy itchy rash on my scalp, have also noted itching around my nose and eyebrows(seborrheic dermatitis??)

Large ugly red pink bumps on my belly and back come and go as well.....

I think there couldn't be a closer symptom list that goes with HIV disease, and Herpes too....so I give up,just want some input from all of you as to what to expect based on your experiences with others....

Thanks

first off who was this girl? Did you know her? Do you know whether or not she has any STDs? If you dont know this girl and it was a one night stand type thing then your at high risk.. You sypmtoms are non-specific and do not mean you have hiv. There are tons of conditions out there that give the same symptoms as hiv! You need to see a dermatologist, and a doctor for std screenings. And yes you do need an HIV test and you have to know thats what everyone else on this board will tell you.

I'm having similar symptoms but mine are not that bad I had unprotected sex. get checked out for hiv. could be just stress.

All of your symptoms also closely match something that all of us have gone through, well not me, but many on this and other boards and it is called stress. Test at a reliable point and let it go and you will see your symptoms go away. Also, did you ever see a doc about any of this?

Thanks for the replies,I did not know her very well, but I had talked to her off and on ,I am pretty positive she gave me herpes but what I have is much more than a simple case of H .

I have not seen a doctor,I am just too scared, cannot seem to get the gal involved to get tested and she acts very strange,if it were me I would get tested right away to help ease the pain of theperson invovlved,it just does not seem right....

I'm tinking of having a lawyer call her and scare her ....but more on that later.

Ciao

Unfortunately ,when my symptoms are not that intense I am okay,I get down and anxious only when I have symptoms so I think my symptoms cause me anxiety and not the other way around,

I suggest doing some outdoor activities. I roller blade to relieve stress immediately my night sweats went away even though I had unprotected sex with someone that I think is HIV+

Actually just because this woman may have been a one night stand and you dont know her status this does not place you at high risk. Infact actually it is just the contrary the fact that you dont know her status actually makes you at lower risk, if you knew she was positive then you would be at "higher" risk but not surely high risk. High risk consists of three risk catagories: Men who have intercourse with other men, Intravenous drug users and hemopheliacs. thats it they are the high risk groups. Your one night stand was notall that high risk considering that you ae the man and she is the woman and the chances of transmission per sexual act in this fashion are 1 in 8000!

Hi. I definitely agree with Shan4699. This situation does not automatically put you in a high risk category. You are specifying that you had PROTECTED sex with this woman. That was all you could do in terms of protecting yourself against HIv and other STDs. The fact that you are feeling symptoms, should be checked and diagnosed only by a doctor.

I'm almost positive that when you mention to your DR taht your exposure was protected, he will probably say that you were not at risk, provided that the condom did not break or was not improperly used.

Things like heart rates, itching, red spots, stabbing pains, sound more like a severe anxiety problem to me. Symptoms on or around your genitals could indeed be a form of infection, but I very much doubt it is Herpes. I'd go more with the crabs option, but again, have this checked by a doc. OK??

Best wishes.
