Hi,
I just wanted to let anyone know that if you get a rash while on Lamictal you should call your doctor. In my case my psychiatrist said to see a dermatologist. Not a helpful suggestion as dermatologists don't just whisk you through the door at a moment's notice. So I called my family doctor and was seen right away. I was a bit doubtful that he would recognize THE rash so I brought some literature with me. He is a good doctor and had some criteria that ruled out THE Lamictal rash. Turns out I have Shingles for the second time. I'm only 46. The doctor thinks my bad sunburn on my leg near the area caused my immune system to drop while my body was trying to heal from the trauma of the sunburn. It was a bad one. So my point is that if you start a rash get it checked as soon as possible. In my case, I was given Valtrex to fight the virus and I am on my way to healing. Don't panic.

Hi,

Just wanted to mention that there's a vaccine now for shingles. I got one a few months ago. I don't know if it'd work if you've already had them, but might be worth investigating.

I'm sorry you have that, but glad it wasn't the Lamictal rash, too.
