My DD just swallowed a small, closed safety pin. Could this possibly open up inside her? Could she pass it out of her system on her own? What should I do??

You need to call you pediatrician's office ASAP. I wouldn't take a chance!

Well I did and he said to go to the ER and we did. They did an x-ray and it turned out that she didn't swallow one after all!:dizzy: I never actually saw her put it in her mouth, just swallow something near the pile that I was cleaning up off the floor.

Better to be safe! The same thing happened to us. Not a safety pin, but I thought my daughter swallowed a hair clip while she was in her car seat. The clip was gone, no where to be found. We looked everywhere in the seat, in the car. So we assumed she swallowed it. Took her to the er for an x-ray and no clip. I finally found it about a year later in the car seat.
