I french kissed a girl at a party. I later found out she was a prostitute. Now I know you can't get infected by simply kissing but at the time my tongue was bleeding due to biting it really hard by mistake.
My gums also bleed whenever I brush my teeth.
Now the problem is I don't know what condition her mouth was in. What are the chances I contracted the HIV virus?

In this case, there was only a thearetical risk...simply put, your risk was slim to none. If you are anxious about this get a test done at 13 weeks past the episode. You will be fine.

I agree with SaltySam. Your chances of contracting HIV from kissing a person is very small. Science has proven that the transfer of HIV through saliva is very rare. No worries. Take care.

Just fyi gums will bleed if you dont floss your teeth, or brush often enough, this is normal.

The tongue is the fastest healing organ in the body. Though it may have still been very sore unless you just did it the wound was probably already closed. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Bleeding of the gums can be caused by numerous things. Of course, even though it was very low risk, get a test just for peace of mind. Other wise you will experience every symptom possible.

It's been 4 weeks and have a sore throat and my joints kinda ache. Are these the kind of symptoms you would get after 4 weeks?

I suggest you not checking the webpages about the symptoms of HIV because since you're checking them, you'll have all the symptoms one by one that are written on the web.I had an unprotected oral sex and I used to check out my body 3-4times a day and it was driving me crazy and i was experiencing all the symptoms i read on the internet.The strangest one is, after 2days I read about swollen glands, a bean shaped lump appeared behind my ear.I don't what it is but I'll get tested in 10days.That's why PLEASE don't read them!!!
