Just wondering..when are morphine pumps recommended?
I am 28 and have severe leg pain and some back pain. I have 3 ruptured discs and one bulging, spinal stenosis, facet syndrome and failed back syndrome (2 prior surgeries). I am currently on methadone and morphine (for breakthru pain) but that regimen is not cutting it. I had an SCS trial this week and had it taken out today. The surgeon thinks I am a good candidate for this but I am very anxious about the whole thing and worried that it may not be worth it.
I want to consider all my options and am therefore doing research on a morphine pump too. When are these indicated??
Also, my husband and I want to have children in the next year or two and that is a consideration.
Thanks in advance!

I have had never but am investigating the scs. I would think if you plan on starting a family the scs would be the better way to go. You are not taking medication with this route versus the morphine pump. I would ask the doctor about the safety of the scs and pregnancy. Could you use it during the pregnancy safely?
