BP I is also just called BiPolar, or Manic Depression. I have BP with BP Suicidal Depression, so I know a little more about that. I have more depression of course and only a few manic states a year. A pretty simple definition is that:
BiPolar I includes severe mood swings that go from depression that can easily get so bad that you can become suicidal and then just as easily go to a high that can be just as extreme, extreme spending, delusions, grandios feelings, etc.
BiPolar II includes mood swings also including depression, and hypomanic states meaning sleeplisness, anxiety, good mood, or irrability. A hypomanic state can last for 4 days or longer. With BP II rapid cycling seems to be more prominate.
Hopefully this helps a bit.
