Is there any possiblilty of oral sex ever again?? I've had g.h. for about a month now...
My daughter's dad and I (seperated) are now talking and trying to rekindle our old flames..can anyone give me some advice on how to break the news?? He also refuses a condom, which is stupid and caused a big fight..He thinks because we had been together so long that it is not neccessary..(also stupid) I contracted this in a short relationship after we were seperated...All i can think is the worst in telling him..but I know he has to know if we ae going to be together again..help??

Look for the herpes handbook. It has a section on how to inform a partner. But your husband could already have it so perhaps he should be tested also.

I feel your pain. It is so humilitating to have to think about not being comfortable with your partner. Hiding it from him or subjecting him to the virus. She is right, he could have it also or maybe gave it to you before and it just now showed up. My opinion is that if you have herpes and either one has oral sex then you could both get it on your face even from kissing afterwards. Sadly, oral is a risk that a lot of people with herpes avoid.

It seems when people find out they have genital herpes one of the first thoughts that crosses their minds is "will I be able to get oral sex again?"
The reality is genital type 2 rarely goes to the mouth. My gyno never saw it. Most doctors never see it. Doctors in dedicated STD clinics maybe see 2 cases . In the rare cases it does occur, it almost never recurs. Shedding rates directly relate to number of outbreaks so oral type 2 shedding is of minor concern.
Genital type 1 easily goes to the mouth of someone without previous oral infection. Most people already have oral type 1 whether they know it or not so in most cases that is not an issue.
While there is a risk of getting oral herpes, if someone really loves you, they should be willing to take the small risk and face the minor consequences.

I have seen type 2 from oral sex on the face under the eye the size of a quarter. it is very possible to contract from oral sex. the person never had it on their genitals. in other words the girl had genital and had oral sex and now he has it on his face and not his penis at least 2 times a year. the real problem for many is: you really don't know if yo have an oubreak inside sometimes unless you insert something hat triggers the pain. then you know it but too late if you are having sex. some symptoms don't hurt until there is friction.
