View Full Version : Loosing my hearing

Hoping to find some advice/help here until I am able to make it to one of my dr's.

I'm 17 and for the past 4 days I have been having a hissing/humming noise in both of my ears, it's seriously cutting off my ability to hear some noises. Like I can't hear my blinker in my car, I can't even hear my car and it usually makes some loud noises. If I have the radio on, I can hear it just not the background music and my ears get like a higher pitch buzz if it does hear the music.

I've been having difficulty sleeping at night due to this, usually a fan to kill the white noise works but it's like I can hear noises the fan is making that I couldn't hear before. The other night I thought I was hearing ambulances pass by my apartment but there weren't any, was just a sound going off in my ear. And the night before that I thought I heard the Tv on but when I double checked it wasn't. I'm not sure what's up, everyone around me has suggested to seek medical help, and I will I just cannot right this second but may be able to in a week.

I also want to add that before this happened I took some Bayer Pm, and it was over the recommended Dosage but it wasn't an all at once dose either, it span out over the course of the entire day. I would have to say I didn't take more than 6 in a 12 hour period. I'm not sure if it's relevant but thought it can't hurt to add it since that same night is when it started occurring.

I appreciate any and all help, thank you for your time with this situation.

Sounds like Tinnitus. I have had it since February and it isn't getting much better.

Do a search on Tinnitus and you will see that aspirin can be one of the causes. Every site I have read said that if you have Tinnitus to avoid aspirin, along with about a dozen other things.
