I thought that for a quick sec I would just give a little opinion. I know some of you people may not like it or may think damn she has a good point. I recently joined this message board website because I feel that it is helpful to sometimes here from people in "your" situation but this is the only subject where everything is repeated. Here is the skinny. Everyone is running around wondering if they are positive and they even have symptoms. From experience been there done that and now I have woke up.Out of thousands of postings and replies on this subject you figure somewhere down the line people will "WAKE UP" and "WRAP UP" come on is 5mins-2hours of pleasure really worth your entire life.I could NEVER imagine having HIV how terrible it would be.Take it all you negatives and run with it.The first time I experienced a feeling of "positive" I completely cut out sex. I know what you're thinking good for me.You're right and I wish I could say the same for you all. I hope if any this helped all of you to realize no one or nothing is worth your life so when you are in fact feeling like you want to have sex, either wrap it up or read a book.Good luck to all and take care.......

thanks for saying things so bluntly. i wish someone had given me a wake up call a long time ago. i dont know if i have hiv or not but i know it's scarying me to death and if i test positive i dont know how i'm gonna make it--i'm so scared. i was one of those who never cared and would just go out and hook up with whoever i wanted and never think about it. that's the dumbest thing ive ever done in my life and i'm so much more on the look out for friends of mine who have the same mentality. please if u have friends that like to sleep around ppllleeeaaasssee at least make sure they are being safe and give them a wake up call and make sure they know what they could be doing to themselves. obviously it's your own choice what u do but friends need to also at least make u aware of how risky a lifestyle that is. yeah it's fun but it could kill u so be careful. i'd rather be healthy and alive now, i'm realizing that much, then live like that. i'm praying everyday that it's not too late for me. good luck u guys!

um ok whoa calm down. i'm not saying i'm cutting sex out of my life AT ALL!! i never even hinted at that! all i'm saying is just please people be more careful for ANY STD, and make sure if your friends are wasted out of their mind dont let them run off with someone they dont know! because i dont know if you've ever had an STD or had a scare for one but whether or not it's a legitimate feeling there are a lot of feelings that come with it and you feel dirty and all that stuff. all i'm saying is people just dont run off and have unprotected sex just because the risks of getting HIV are so low. believe me, i'm no sexless spinster ok?? i'm young and believe me i know how to have fun! it's comforting to here the risks are so low but dont try and tell me not to worry when i have had unprotected sex with some guy i have never met before. i would rather be extra careful then go about living like nothing bad is going to happen to me because thats what i did think and then i got an STD that lasts for life. i'd give up that one night of pleasure if i could get rid of this stupid STD. so dont judge people's feelings if you've never been there. (dont know if you have and maybe you're just real optimistic but still)

Hi. I DID misread a few key lines in your post Collegegrl. I thought you said you were NEVER one of those girls who etc, etc. But re-reading and seeing you were a wild girl (as I have been a wild guy) , I say absolutely be as safe as possible in those situations. And indeed I have had a few terrible scares myself. In fact it was a scare that led me to all of this detailed research. Optimism has nothing to do with it however. The FIRST poster, I am NOT thinking "good for you." And as well, "how terrible it must be to have HIV" sure doesn't make much room for any HIV+ person coming here to seek consolation. Not to mention most HIV+ people are thriving these days, due to breakthrough medications. A great many of them have managed to get themselves to an "undetectable" status, which means, for the most part they are as healthy as the rest of us. And if you CAN go without sex forever, just because you had a scare once--you have remarkable restraint. I'd love to talk to you in three years and see how you're coming along ; )

AHhhh, Mr Devine,
I had a HIV scare and it was an unhealthy one at that. Let me explain my self.Being the "original poster" and all. Ok are you not grasping the fact the HIV is terminal.People come on this website and butter the fact that HIV is low risk.Really ask my friend who contracted HIV the first sexual encounter he had........ Now as far as refraining from sex been there done that. I went without it for two years. My life is more important than a STD. Don't misjudge me by my opinion. It is a little advice to people out there that are scared.Maybe they will think twice before they have unprotected sex.I understand that people live with HIV everyday but ask that infected person if they had things differently how would they do it.I am betting their answer would be that they refrain from sex or unprotected sex at least.Sorry if you mistake my words of advice for cruelty or stupidity MR Devine but lets ask the question to you where will you be in three years from now???
