Anyone else here from Ontario? I am in Ottawa. I have had TMJ for 8 years and what I think is pretty bad. My major symptom is bilateral temporal headaches. When I was at my worst I was off work for a year and a half. My pain was so severe I was on Methadone. I have tried several forms of treatment. You name it I probably have tried it. I just recently had botox injections to try to help with the pain. I am on Tramadol. I go to chiro and massage weekly and a head neck and jaw clinic biweekly. I am followed by a neuromuscular dentist who specializes in tmj. Right now I have relapsed and have had daily headaches in the bad to severe range. I am open to trying anything!!! Please help me if you can.\

I'm sorry you're in so much pain. I used to have terrible headaches everyday, not knowing they were caused by TMJ. After undergoing splint treatment from several dentists, I finally found one that knew what he was doing. Once again, I wore a splint and then braces on my teeth for 16 months to correct an anterior open bite. I still wear a splint when I sleep and also go to Acupuncture once a week. Have you tried that yet? It's been like a miracle for me. I also take Flexeril, a muscle relaxer. It sounds like you've tried almost every treatment. I hope you find something that gets rid of your headaches again.

I did acupuncture in Nov.2007 three times a week for three months and nothing. He was the best in town too so I was quite disappointed to say the least. Tried Flexeril too and nothing. Thanks for the ideas.
