I am a 48 year old white, male, who has been healthy all my life. In mid-2006 I had a lymph node in the groove between my Adam's Apple and carotid artery became enlarged and tender. For several months, it would go up and down. For the last year, though, it has remained enlarged and is occasionally tender and I will get occasional headaches up the left side of my head, the same side with the node. I have been to my family doctor many times. Had a sonogram, MRI, blood tests, seen the ENT doctor, all with negative results. I was sent to the hospital for a needle biopsy. When the doc sensed how close it was to the carotid artery (right on top), he wouldn't do the needle biopsy. My doctors have said that it should return to normal in months, but, hey, come on, it's been two years now. What can I do? What should I do at this point? Anyone have a suggestion?
