I too am going through a severe bout of (diagnosed) depression and this site has given me great assistance. What I've found which does help is that nowadays I attend a small church service on Sunday and Wednesday evenings. Though not particulary religious, I find attending the services are grounding and uplifting at the same time. The folk who run the church are most friendly and sincere and there warmth is much appreciated.
