View Full Version : Discreet HIV testing: Do not try this one!!

I just want to let everyone out there know that they SHOULD NOT purchase a Discreet HIV test from a Canada-based company. These tests are widely sold on the Internet, but they are absolutely inaccurate. I took a Discreet test a couple weeks ago that came out with a positive result. I live in the Virgin Islands, so it was a real hassle getting a Home Access test down here (although the company was very accomodating) and I went through over a week of uncertainty and fear. This has been a horrible experience, and I'd like to save anyone else thinking about purchasing one of those tests a lot of hell. I just got my Home Access result back and it was negative. That is the only FDA approved home testing kit, and the only one you should even consider using. God bless.

Yes Discreet is very unreliable. People do not waste your time or money on them. I can't imagine the nightmare you went through.

Most antibodies are detected well under 90 days, but as long as your test was around or greater than the 90 day mark, trust your negative Home Access results.

Hi thats good to know about those tests. Although I did do a test where I gave a blood sample and sent that off to get it tested. Do you think that would be as reliable as actually going to the doctor? Although I have tested myself 3 times over the past year and all have been negative I'm just curious to know, I guess i'm just paranoid. Thanks alot.
