I played guitar rather frequently and now I have a sharp pain whenever I apply pressure in the tip of my index finger and thumb of my left hand. It hasn't gone away in over a week and it tingles on and off.

I'm awaiting a doctors appointment but I'm wondering if anyone has advice like if it could be carpal tunnel or simply neuroma from constant pressure on the tips and if it ever heals.

Could be the beginning of carpal tunnel. Pain or numbness are signs of cts. Even now after having surgery 3 years ago and having a relapse, I have pain in my fingertips sometimes. Or, (I know this sounds crazy) but I can bite the tips of my fingers and just about feel it. I do that to see if sensation is coming back or going away more.
