Hello all, just a quick background before I get to my question...I'm 40 with a history of antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (blood clotting disorder that caused me to lose two children mid pregnancy in 01 and 02); I have most recently discovered an enlarged, tender lymph node on the right side of my neck (had neck pain with radicular symptoms for the last year) and my hematologist didnt' think it warrented a biopsy because it doesn't "feel" like cancer. So I finally went to the Lahey clinic in MA for a second opinion and lo and behold...there was lymphadenopathy all up and down my cspine and i DO have a very large, suspicious lymph node on the right side of my neck..so they are referring me to their hematology/oncology department for further evaluation. Also, in dec 07 i was diagnosed with a pituitary adenoma (4mm) and in January 08 they found many breast cysts which are being followed up every 3 months...no biopsies on anything! I feel like i turned 40 and fell apart! So, is the lymphadenopathy a concern for cancer? Is the blood disorder the underlying cause? I have been on two rounds of antibiotics with no effect and i am in pt 2 x per week due to pain and numbness in my neck arms, upper back and chest. Can anyone shed some light on this? Am I going in the right direction? What questions should I be asking of the doctors? Help!
