Hello looking for some help here as I have had an extensive list of varying symptoms over roughly a 5month period now. My 1st symptom I personally noted was confusion and lapse of time. Concentration was limited. Then I went through a phase that my left leg was going numb and experienced heaviness in the legs as well. I have experienced vision blurriness, instability on my feet (almost like I was falling), vibration from time to time in my legs, slurred speech and also word stumbling or not accurately able to put a full sentence together. I was seen at a local ED once back in May of 2008. They took bloodwork and urine sample before sending me home. After roughly 12 more PCP appointments I finally was sent into the ED via ambulance due to left side paralysis, confusion, had fallen and was non resposive. My PCP felt it was a mild stroke however this has not yet been confirmed. I have had a EKG come back normal, been tested for drugs and STD'S (nothinng wrong here), I have had a lumbar puncture (nothing there), Just had an MRI today waiting on the results. Maybe someone could help me out with all these varying symptoms ??????? My Neurologist and PCP feel it could be MS any thoughts ???

USMC,

For a little while I thought I was reading my own chart. Were you tested for MS when they did the lumbar puncture? In 2002 I went to the hospital with stroke like symptoms. After four days of tests they said I had a stroke. I recovered fairly fast and then something happened again, only worse in 2006. If you can find my post under "me and my MS" you will see what I mean. I was finally diagnosed with MS almost two years ago. It got rough, but it is better now. The doctor told me I would have good days and bad days. I told him that he didn't know me and I would have good days and better days. So far, I win. Good luck to you, but tell them you want to be tested for MS. My wife kept pushing until they finally did.

Take care,

do you walk like you had 12 beers? has your one eye been affected, like you felt like you got a punch in the eye? an eye doc can prove that you are afflicted with ms or not! no need for all of the other appts. they just want to make their money. my friend, long ago was diagnosed with ms, he knew right away she had taken on the ms due to looking into her one eye that was affected, like. overnite, next, she slurred and walked like a drunk...luckily, she only got affected with her right ankle.....since then, she has come back completely.....she just kept going up and down stair, with caution, her eye got better, everything! first, get your eyes checked, please.
take care!
