I have been taking 40 milligrams of adderrall for about 4 months. I want to taper off. What is a good dose to take to start? I want to avoid the hard side effects of tiredness if possible. Please advise.

samikm,
You can probably cold turkey without experiencing withdrawals. You might have a sleep deficit so try stopping on a day when, if needed, you can spend the day resting and napping. It should take no longer than 1 day to recover a sleep deficit.
If the lethargy continues, either you have developed a degree of physical addiction (rare after only 4 months) or you simply need the drug to function normally.
Why do you want to stop?
