View Full Version : Afraid after 6 months

6 months ago I had an encouter with a woman (met online, imagine that!) - involved genital to genital contact, not intercourse (grinding, etc.), no condom (stupid!). The woman has told me that she is hiv & std negative.

About 2 weeks later, experienced bad bout of diarrhea. Went to doctor, was told to cut out greasy foods & let my body flush itself out - did that & felt better. Since then, excessive gas (more belching & minute gas expulsion in throat) - doctor has me on a nexium type medicine which has helped with discomfort. Took HIV test over 8 weeks after possible exposure, came back negative.

2 months after possible exposure, throat discomfort began - not sore at all, just like a small lump when swallowing feel. Figured this might be esophageal related to mild GERD - pepcid AC & doc's stomach meds made this better. Now, 6 months later, on occasion I will still feel some gastrointestinal discomfort & bad taste in mouth (no sign of thrush).

I know that ARS would have come & gone by now, and I never experienced chills, aches, fever, rash - only sporatic diarrhea which seems to occur around milk products (doctor has me on lactose free diet, diarrhea episodes are very infrequent now).

Has anyone experienced these types of symptoms, gassiness etc. for 6 months without other symptoms? What do you think? Should I get a 6 month test?
