Last week I had a yeast infection and thought nothing of it. I had been going out alot wearing tight clothing and dancing till all hours. Figured it had to be from that. I treated it and it went away. Yesterday I went to doctor with white throat. Thought it might be strep. He said it was probably thrush and asked me to be tested for hiv. Treated with med. and it is already gone.
About 2 1/2 mths ago I DID have unprotected sex. (I beat myself in the head all the way home!! I knew it was stupid at the time but was too drunk to care!) I have been beating myself up for the past 2 months really worried that something could've happened and now this....
Could the yeast infection combined with thrush just be a coincidence?? Am I reading too much about this? I haven't had any other symptoms until this. (Today, of course, I think I have them all!)
Someone recently told me that military personnel are tested frequently for HIV. Does anyone know if that is true because he is in the army?
I am sooooo scared. I have several children and work in the childcare field. I almost don't even want to get the test results.
This is going to be the longest week of my life!!!!!!!

Its possible that the thrush and the yeast infection were related, as thrush is just an overgrowth of yeast, wich occurs through out your body normally. It is a delicate balance to be maintained, and many things can throw it off.

Testing and waiting are VERY difficult to do, but it will be worth it. I have children also, and about a year and a half ago I had a low risk possible exposure, and was VERY scared for my children. My test was negative, but I spent months after words convinced I had it, and had given it to my kids everytime they were ill. Time heals, and after I learned to trust my results, I was saner, and my kids have been ill, and I have not panicked. Even IF, IF you have it, it is unlikely you have passed it onto them.

As for testing in the military, I heard that they test before they accept them in, but I dont know after words. Someone said they test them 1 a year for as long as they are in. I dont know for sure.
