Last year there was an article that mixing Zetia with Statin drugs or taking the combo version Vitoryn, can cause more liver damage than either drug alone. There was also talk of a class action suit. Now I haven't seen heard anything more about this. Does anyone know?

I don't know about liver damage, but yesterday when I was watching the news a report came on which said there is a possibility that Vitoryn can cause cancer, the news report said more research needs to be done.

I took Zocor for 6 months, lowered all my cholesterol numbers to where they should be. Really watching what I eat now! I had no side effects, but I know it can affect the liver. It is stressed highly that you don't drink alcohol while taking statins. I don't drink much so that wasn't a problem. Good luck to you.

I don't know what to tell you. I know there was something on it last year. There was a law firm who were looking for people who were taking it. Now I don't see much about it. I am wondering because I took Baycol and that killed 66 people before it was pulled off the market. So maybe further testing proved Vytorin is ok

my doc told me now not to take it and is sending me to an endocrinologist. This is completely frustrating.
