I read that two top medical insurers in California are refusing to give medical insurance to Lipitor users. Only five states are required to insure everyone regardless of pre-existing conditions; NY, NJ, Maine, Vermont, and Mass.
Some doctors are prescribing statins to patients who don't really need them which makes the problem even worse (I could have been one of those people but I kept refusing Lipitor because my TC/HDL ratio was good, even though my LDL was 142. When I finally took the VAP test, I found that my LDL is all large particle and I have a good amount of both size HDL's also).

I was reading another message board on this web-site and it's a shame that people are afraid to get medical testing due to the fact that insurers in some states are denying coverage for pre-existing conditions.

People living in the above mentioned northeastern states should research any state they are considering relocating to because of this problem. I was considering a move to California in the future, but now I won't even think about it, I'm staying put in the Northeast, so I don't have to be afraid to get medical tests if I need new insurance.
