Good morning everyone,

Heres a little background, I'm a 40yr old female married 23yrs, with 3 kids 20,almost 19 and 14. On May 12th of this year my son and I were rear ended at a light by a girl doing between 45 & 50 mph ,at the time i was driving a 2005 dodge durango slt (BIG SUV)she was driving a 98 ford baby pickup . she went up under the truck and was spit out the back when she hit (and dented)the undermount tire, she hit so hard even the frame had a small bend to it, the damage done suprised me considering my truck was so much large than hers. The real problem is what the impact did to Josh and I.
I saw her coming and braced hard for the hit ,I pushed the brakes to the floor ,gripped the wheel hard and pushed myself into the seat ,to keep from being pushed into the cars surrounding me (we were about 12 cars back from the light on a busy road) I did'nt even have time to even warn Josh it was coming it happened so fast ,no squeal of tires ...nothing she never slowed.Josh was taken by ambulance to the er..what a joke they pushed on his back and said prob. a sprain no x-rays nothing...they wanted to examin me and I refused ,went to my dr's the next am ,Paid H*** to get past the girls at the desk ..no medical ins at the time..finally got past them only to find out this is one of his last days at that practice..so he gives me celeberx and flexerol samples ,some T3"s and valium.Along with his Email so I can find his new office. No physical exam no x-rays .I leave his office and head to my Chiro's office ,I know alot of people have had bad experiences with chiros , and you do need to be careful when choosing one .I've been seeing Dr.Lupo about 8 yrs , really for maitenance ,if I overdid it physically or if the body felt out of whack ...so maybe 6 or 7 times a year. When I about crawled in his office they were just getting ready to close for lunch, Doc took one look at me, said what the hell happened to you....personaly did my x-rays(they were clear) instead of one of the girls, performed a exam , did a slight adjustment , and had me in for a massage the next day. I was a mess physically and emotionally ,so by the end of the week ,he refered me to a Psychologist, and a spine specialist(my son to the spine dr also), He sends me for MRI and finds the disc between C 4&5 and C 5&6 are ruptured and pushing on the spinal cord. one pushind more to the left and one to the right actually Dr's words were D*** it they're all over the place. So acdf surgery for me on the 16th of Sept. My son is having serious issues with his shoulder which may require surgery for him.Can you imagine if I'd have been driving my little chevy malibue.
Sorry this is so long and i want to type more but I'm about to do something really dumb, We have done nothing this summer as a family and they love the Renissance Festival ,so I promised we would go ,I have had such a bad week painwise and my cordination (SP? ) is so off ,burning ,numbness you all know the drill.....lol..plus it's a 45 min drive each way and within 10 minutes of walking and I'm hurting. Kids are sweet saying they'de understand ,so even if i only last an hour I need to do this ,since i know the next few months will only be worse. That and I have tickets to Cheech and Chong main floor, concerts 4 days after the surgery so no concert for me. Wish me Luck that today dose'nt knock me down to hard.

thanks for listening to my whine,
Misfit
