the risk from a one time unprotected vaginal exposure is said to be anywhere from 1/1000- 1/8000.
test at 3 months after the exposure for a conclusive result.
the odds are in your favor from a one time possible exposure.

You cannot diagnose HIV/AIDS with symptoms. If you are worried the only way to know for sure is to get tested. This will put your mind at rest.

No, the symptoms of ARS would not occur this quickly, typically ARS does not accur for 10-14 days after exposure. The stomach ache and diarreah sounds more stress related. My boyfreind and I have a four yearold daughter and obviously because I am so young and in school I dont want anymore children right now. I have been on the depo-shot for a few years but because it stops me from having my period I am always paranoid that I am pregnant. Often times, I bring on the symptoms myself (stomach ache, morning sickness, bloating etc...) Its mind over matter and thats all. You dont have HIV, especially since you were using a condom, yes it may have broken but you corrected this very quickly. The chances of female to male transmission are slim to none anyway (regardless of what Magic Johnson tells the media, I think he was shooting a lil something into his skin and not another woman, perhaps he got confused) However, just to keep yourself free of other STD's stay away from the escorts, these women do not exactly have the most class in the world.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, and I could very well be... But I thought I would add something here.
I know most police departments test prostitutes when they are arrested to see if they are HIV+. My question is: would that info be available to other people? Maybe this way you could find out if she has had a test recently and what the results were. I know this could be a invasion of privacy to the prostitute, but she could of had to sign some type of release in order for her to be let out of jail. I don't know, but it is at least a suggestion. Also, if they can't give specific results, maybe they can tell you if she has been arrested before and then perhaps the statistics in that area. You never know, perhaps that would make you feel somewhat better. Just a thought. Hopefully it helps a bit.

First off. Most Police departments DO NOT test prostitutes for HIV. If fact i sure its quite rare that they do. Maybe a few of your large Metropolitan Police departments with high rates of infection, but im pretty sure they are few and far between. That aside, i would seriously doubt that info would be released to the public. However, most states have laws against having sex with someone when HIV positive unless you disclose your status to that person. If someone was charged with such a crime then im sure the victim would be notified. Other than that, i dont think medical info would be disclosed.

I don't mean to call you out. But are you sure about it? I hope no one would stop using a condom because of what you said.

The chances of a woman giving HIV to a man is slim to none???? That is entirely untrue. This is the type of false information that helps add to the spread of this disease. The "I can't get it attitude". Of course a man can contract HIV from heterosexual sex. I know of men who have caught it from a one-time encounter! To say that it's impossible is giving out horribly wrong information! And to call yourself an expert is even more ridicules...
Yes, it is harder for a man to contract HIV from a female, but it is NOT unheard of or unlikely. And all this statistical information means to a male anyway, is that he is more likely to have sex with an HIV+ woman (since women are more apt to catch it). I don't think I'd feel any "safer" being a male. Women= more likely to catch the virus. men= more likely to have sex with a female who's infected. Neither sex is safe or less likely to catch it!

I am sure this so called man who was infected from a one time encounter is also a pathological liar! jeez brings me back to what my fathers excuse to my mother was when she discovered he was gay and had a partner! I think he said something along the lines of "I had a one time sexual experience with an infected woman" yea right, be friggin honest already! what was she in the middle of her period and he happened to be gushing blood from the head of his penis?

Agreed, I think most men who are infected by a women may have had anal sex aw well but are not being open about it. I'm not saying that regular sex with a women means you can't get it but other factors need to play a role. As for magic I don't think he was a druggie. I think he was even one having sex with a whole lot of women unprotected and I'm sure some of it was anal sex as well (Look at Kobe, he had anal sex with the girl and *** was found in her. He doesn't even know this girl and he still had unprotected sex with her goes to show you that sports stars are just damn nasty)
2. He maybe bi-sexual as well which i think he maybe.
For all those who don't believe you can't gey HIV from woman you have to ask youself how are these women becoming infected if not from a man
Rap it up everytime!

sport stars are gross i agree

well the chances of infection from a man are greater because semen is scientifically proven to carry the virus and in pretty big ammounts in some cases, so if the man is cumming inside of the woman then there is of course more potential for infection. I have to say that they have also done studies that have shown that the chances for the insertive partner during anal sex to become infected is not much higher then the chances of them becoming infected during vaginal sex, just simply because of the anatomy of the penis, lovejones1 you are also correct, magic probably did have a whole lot of sex with a whole lot of woman and who knows he probably threw a few men in the mix as well which made him at even greater risk, however we must keep in mind that his wife who he reported having sex with after he put himself at HIV risk is to this day negative! therefore you never can tell and although statistics might support either side of the coin using a condom is probably a better idea in all cases. dont play russian roulette with your life!

Shan,
I'm not too sure of how much of an expert you are... or where you get your information from. However, if you think that everyone who says they contracted HIV through a heterosexual sex is a liar..then I don't know what to tell you. I guess the 34% of HIV+ men who contracted HIV through heterosexual sex are all lying as well. Must be a conspiracy.
I also know an HIV+ woman who trasmitted it to her husband. But he must have been gay as well because he couldn't possibly have caught it from his wife!
I agree some people do lie..it's easier to say someone contracted through heterosexual sex rather than homosexual sex... but to say it's impossible is flat out wrong information. And to say you're an expert is very misleading. Where do you get your information from?!!

Summer, you are absolutly right to dispute Shans comments. For an "expert" to say that its impossible is absurd. However, you mention 34% of infected males were infected through hetero sex. I believe you may be referring to NEW infections. Due to better AIDS awareness in the gay community, homosexual transmission has continued to lower over the past several years. However the number of heterosexual infection rates remains pretty much unchanged. The percentage has went up because of a smaller number of homosexual cases reported. The overall percentage of heterosexual "route of transmission" still remains between 8-10% of all infections reported.

I didnt say it was impossible I said that there would have to be other risk factors involved for this to happen!!! such as what I stated above!!!

I didnt say impossible!!! I said there would have to be other risk factors involved as I stated before!!! also, ok I believe this man got it from his wife however, Im sure he didnt get it the first time they had sex.. get my point!
