Hello everyone, I'm struggling with finding a diagnosis for my symptoms. I am almost sure I have Sjogrens, but I'm a bit paranoid I may have MS. I say this because for the past several years I have had a stumbling problem. When I walk, just normal walking, I will often trip over my own foot. It's like I don't lift it up far enough. When I'm in the company of co-workers I need to make an effort to concentrate on my walking technique so I don't embarrass myself. Does that sound like a symptom? I also am exhausted by the heat and my eyes jiggle back and forth when I read occasionally. I see the Rhuemy in about 1 week so I will bring this all up then too. Anyway, thanks for any response and I hope you are all okay.

Hi, puppy. My advice would be to not go overboard on trying to self-dx. The internet can be as much of a hinderance as a help! When you see your rheumatologist, if they think it's possible that there's something neurological going on, ask to be referred to a specialist. What you're describing can be found in MS, but not in MS alone.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks so much for your input Beary! I will take your advice and try not to think about it until I talk to the Rheumy. Have a great weekend!

I, too, stumble. But it is because my vision is poor, which throws off my depth perception and balance (sometimes the ground looks like it is sloping down so I don't lift my foot as high, etc.). I have Sjogrens Syndrome and Ocular Myasthenia Gravis, each of which can cause vision and balance issues (worth looking up and should you have even the slightest of similarities, asking your doctor about).
And while I agree with Bearygood's statement about the internet, we all know that in reality doctors know very little about the human body (especially when it comes to autoimmune disorders) and they are therefore very very likely to dismiss you and your symptoms. Consequently, it is up to you to do the research and ask the questions and request appropriate tests. Best of luck to you!

Thanks Patricia, I have finally learned to be more assertive with Drs. This next appt. will be the 3rd Rhuemy I'm going to. I met with my internest today and found out I'm positive for Sjogrens, which I suspected. She wants me to go to the Rhuemy because she thinks it's something more. We will see. I know MS has many symptoms and they are shared by other ailments, so it will be interesting. Thanks so much for your response & have a great weekend!
