Hi,
After a ct scan 2 nodes on my lungs were found and I found a lump in my left armpit a 1 /4" wide and 1/4" deep.
The doctor wants to follow up with another ct scan in six months to measure it again. I'm scared I get sick feelings that last hours sometimes. Massive chest pains all over. And I'm very tired all the time.
I'm wondering what blood tests I can ask for to determine cancer or not?
I don't want to wait until it grows to find out I'm going to die, when a test now could determine what is going on with me?

The D. seems to be not concerned. If the ct scan was bad then he ouldn't wait for 6 months. I have a lump in my armpits right now and it's has something to do with my changing deodarant.
Why not get another opinion.?

When he told me about the two lung nodes he wasn't thinking about the lump in my armpit. I mentioned it to him after he said to have my family doctor schedule another ct scan in six months. I told him how large it was.
He then proceeded to tell me to have my family doctor look at it asap, and not to put it off. He mentioned that the nodes in my lung weren't there in April when I had chest x-rays done.
So far no medical person has examined my armpit lump yet. And the person who ran the ct scan missed scanning it when it was requested...
Human error...
I can't get in to see my doctor until September 8th.
Cancer runs in my family at a young age. Very common I'm certain.
The doctor I was speaking to on the phone is taking my scan to the radioligist again for another look.
I just want to be prepared.
And make certain I ask the right questions.
From the research I have obtained from the internet. 6 Months is a long time to wait.

The radiology dept went over my ct scan again and in the report they are now called "masses". They are in my lower left quardrant of my lung.
So if anyone knows what blood tests or whatever I should ask for, please tell me.
The six month wait for another ct scan was cut in half today.

Has anyone discussed a biopsy or bronchiastomy(sp)...to determine what the 'masses' are...if not ask....hopefully nothing and benign...but if it was something...even 3 months before re-testing...would be a very long time...worth having additional tests to know what is going on...take care...c

The lump under my arm will be seen by a doctor for the first time this Monday.
I'm going to insist on a scan of it no matter what he thinks since I know for a fact I have two masses in my lower left lung.
If it's anything I will ask for a biopsy or bronchiastomy if it appears to be anything.
Truth is I don't really know what to think right now.
I have other posts in the heart catagory here. The doctor says now that my chest pain and the masses may be related. But he said tehy were small enough that I shouldn't even feel them?
He added Lyrica to my other pills. He wants to check for nerve end pain.

I have another ct scan next week.
I'm crossing my fingers.
I had the scan today and the tech told me I do have something under my arm.
I'll hear from teh doc. soon.

Good new.
The catscan shows the lumo under my arm is in no way cancer.
I'll know more once I meet with my doctor next week.
They are scheduling another ct scan in 6 months to see if the two masses in my lower right lung grow.

hi!
i am a smoker for more than 10 years. how does the nodes at your lungs look like? i have nodes that look like mosquito bites on my chest. also now i am having chest pains. the pains are from the center . when i take a deep breath, i feel like the lungs are congested. i have a node at the back of my left ear. Also my back, near sholder blades are stiff. i have hair growing from my palms. Just the other day, i got 3 strands grew from both my left and right thumbs. It is like my dna is changing. I am afraid of cancer. Is this the symptoms of cancer or heart problem?
