Hello,
I have just discovered this wonderful and amazing board... having been up all night in pain from a bm i had just before going to bed. i'm 27 and having suffered with a fissure for nearly a year, had a sphinctorectomy, fissurectomy and heammorroihdectomy all at one shot in a hospital in india (i'm from india living in the uk). the surgery was late march this year, and although i have not had pain like before the surgery, i am completely exhausted and miserably depressed because i am quite often in bad pain. i try very hard to keep a healthy diet, and most of the time i have soft bms, but i am still in pain. although a lot of the times the initial passing of the stool is hard and then it is soft. i was hoping someone could tell me if they took really six months to recover? i have a one year old baby and many days i just feel too tired from the pain to look after him. the pain is managable, although it lingers for about 4 to 5 hours after a bm, but it does take it out of me. i'm just at my wits end today as my child will wake up in the next hour, and having been up all night in pain, i don't know how i am going to manange...
hoping for some encouraging words!!
thanks,
noki

Noki,
Hang in there. What are you using to keep your stools soft and moving on their own? Have you seen a doctor recently to follow up on your pain issues? Seek out another doctor's opinion if you are not getting help for your present doctor. Were your rectal problems from childbirth/pregnancy? It is hard to find the strength to take care of a child when you are in pain. Be strong! I will say a prayer for you. Let me know the answers to the questions I have posted here.
