On 8/20 I went in for a normal d and c procedure becasue I had still been bleeding since giving birth in June. Well after the procedure I was sent home, in excrusiating pain. I called the doctor who called in more pain meds for me, before I could even take them I called 911 doubled over in pain. I get to the ER and they did a cat scan to find the gyno had preforated my uterus. The next day she went in laperscopicly to stitch the uterus to find out she had also preforated my bowel. I had to get emergency surgery and got 3 inches of my bowel removed, along with my appendix cause it was so swollen from sitting in that mess all night. Soooooo Much to my dismay, I sit here, knowing nothing about this procedure.
All of my bowel movements are diareah, and last night I went to the er casue of rectal bleeding, to find that it was a fissure. But still after all of this, thats all I needed to see was blood in the toilet. And it was alot.
I usually have to prepare myself for stuff like this, and now I sit here soo uncomfortable with my 2 month old staring at me like she needs me and I can't be there for her.
I also have been having pain when I am going to the bathroom. I feel like they shoved a shovel up me. Is this normal? Its painful to pee and poop. I don't know if its becasue I am tense cause of all the pain and I'm afraid or what. But I just want everything to be ok. And I get scared that its not now because of what happened to me. Its like I don't know who to trust.
If anyone can make me feel a little better about this situation, I could really use it right now. I am so scared, and every little pain or twinge I get I freak out over now. I have also gotten my anxiety and panic attacks back which make things so much worse for me. I made hubby go out and get me a blood pressure cuff last night. Haha
When are you pretty much in the clear from infections and any post op complications?? I am 9 days post op now. How long does it usually take for the bowel to heal too? I'm sorry, I just didn't expect all this to happen to me. I am only 27 years old, and cluless to this stuff.
Thanks!

I'm very sorry for all you've had to go through. I know that any surgeries on your intestines takes time to heal. As far as rectal pain, you can use Tucks medicated wipes for when you have a bm and it will help soothe your rectum. Also they make a Tucks cream which might help. You should not wear shoes with a heel only flats as heels will cause a pulling in your rectal area. Believe me it's true. Are you supposed to be eating a diet high in fiber or watch certain foods? I would check with your dr as to what type of foods may cause you problems. You need to make sure you drink lots of water and get plenty of rest. You have been through a lot in a short period of time and you need to give your body a chance to heal. Also just my opinion, but I think you need to contact a lawyer and sue for medical malpractice. Hang in there and I hope you begin to feel better very soon.

Thanks Bikergirl. I just wasn't perpared for anything like this to happen. And was not expecting the pain that I am having. Its so hard feeling this way with a 2 month old at home. People have been helping out which I am so gretful for but I am starting to get depressed about the whole situation. I just wish I knew how long the recovery time is? I feel like I should be better by now. Its only been almost 2 weeks but I still feel so bruised inside. Honeslty I feel like I got rapped in the butt a thousand times. I don't know how else to explain it. LOL
