I recently found out that I have the HPV virus and didn't get it from anybody. I was told because of my PAP smears being abnormal. Would a hysterectomy be a good idea for me because of my situtation? I would really like to know. Thank you for your time.

HPV is transmitted by skin to skin contact, so it came from someone some how.
If your pap is abnormal, there are several more tests and procedure that your doctor will order (if medically prudent) before a hysterectomy is considered appropriate treatment.
