My doctor gave me some literature to read about the diet pill Meridian (not sure of spelling) but I have seen the ads saying it may raise blood pressure. I need to lose weigh to help lower my blood pressure and diabetes but am concerned of the health problems the pills may create. Anyone tried this and had bad or good things to say about it? I took Tenuate Dospan about 20 years ago and lost 70 lbs. but gained it all back. Not even sure if this is still on the market but I did not have side effects from it.

Hello, I was on meridia about 2 years ago. I was on if for 7 months and lost about 50# on it, then one day at a dr. appt., they took my b/p and it was very high so I had to stop taking it. I continue to have high b/p. I'm not saying that it will happen to you, it may help you and you can continue taking it with no complications. I'm not taking anything now, but wish I could be on something to help me. I even considered surgery but it didn't work out, I guess I'll have to do it the old fashioned way...

i too am very overweight but recently lost 50lbs. I took apple cider vinegar pills 2 before each meal and they really worked.. hydroxcutt is also very good avaiable at wal-mart or kmart stores ..neither is real expensive and can be took together the only thing they do is make you have to urinate a lot they draw off a lot of fluid.. but they do work... and the vinegar pills make you feel good too try them........

I was recently threatened with having to go on medication for high blood pressure and was told if I could lose weight I probably wouldn't have to. I immediately changed my eating habits for the better and started exercising. I started with a light yoga work out and now go to Curves every morning. I have lost two sizes in about three weeks. I wanted to find a pill that would help me but it boils down to making healthy changes in your diet and activities. I always said I didn't have time, it cost too much etc. But the reality is, I am not getting any younger and if I don't start taking care of myself now, I am going to miss out on a lot. Diet pills may help in the short term but if you don't change the habits that got you where you are now, as soon as you stop the pills, you'll start gaining.

Hey !!
I work on a cardiology step down floor, I just wanted to say that your rate doesnt have to change in order for you to have problems. Too many of these pills & drugs have this kind of a side effect. Always educate yourself on ALL ingrediants & their individual effects on a body before giving them atry.
BE CAREFUL!

I took meridia for a while(about 8 months) lost 18 lbs the first month then a lb a month after--got discouraged and quit paying that high price for something that wasn't working. I did however take xenical about 3 years ago--lost 47 lbs in two months!! then couldn't afford them any longer and gained all my weight back in about a years time. boy i sure felt good while it was off though!! think i might ask the dr to put me back on those. anyone know anything about xenical? I was also on zoloft at the same time--was it the xenical or the zoloft????
