Hi I just got your queeries today as I've worked all weekend long! twelve hour shifts! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/yawn.gif. Well I guess I'll jump right in and, hopefully answer all your questions. I had the gastric RNY done on Nov.11/02 and it was the best decision of my life!!!,
no regrets. It has been 3 months since surgery and I've lost a total of 75lbs and a total of 45" off my body. I feel like a brand new person that doesn't have to live with constant agonizing pain!! The surgery went well with one minor complication of my suture line, but that healed quickly. I can eat regular food as long as it isn't high in fat or full of sugar, because I do get dumping syndrome http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/eek.gif.
It has made a dramatic impact in my life with my kids
they get so excited because I can do things now and I don't have to ask them to do things for me or get stuff for me. I have recently joined the gym because I now have alot of loose skin and am hoping to tone some of it while I lose the weight. I know you wondered if my insurance covered this procedure! well it did but I think that is due to the fact that I live in Canada. I understand that americans don't have the same type of health care that we do. which is a total shame! I had surgery in Toronto, I didn't pay for anything! everything including the panulectomy(tummy tuck) that I will need when I have reached my desired weight will be covered. I hope I have been able to provide you with some insight into your questions! and if not I am truly sorry.
