I was on Yasmin for 4 years with no problems, went off of it for 3 months and then went back on it for 3 months. About 2 months into taking it the second time around I noticed that I was peeing a lot. I thought it was due to the diuretic in it so I stopping taking it a little over a month ago to see if it would clear up. Well, I haven't had as many peeing episodes as I did when I was on Yasmin, but there are times when I'm still urinating a lot. I've already ruled out the possibility of a UTI or diabetes. I'm thinking it might be IC. What I'm wondering is does it take a while for the side effects of birth control to get out of your system? I thought the diuretic wouldn't be in my body anymore, but I'm not so sure. Sometimes when I pee, I pee a lot, more than ususal...which seems like a diuretic is still in my system. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Not sure of how much of the diuretic is in that pill, but anything is possible. The pill itself really only stays in your system for a few days, which is why you get the fake period while you're on placebos. But the thing is, the effects on your body, overall, can last for a long time until your body gets back to normal again. Again, I'm not sure how the diuretic figures into it, but I know that your hormone levels are significantly screwy for quite a long time after you quit. Just depends on how long it takes your ovaries to recover after having been put to sleep and stuff.

Kszan, thank you so much for the reply! I definitely think that my hormones are screwed up. Ever since I stopped I've had bad anxiety/depression, headaches, and some other things. I hope my body gets back on track soon.
