I don't even know how to describe it, not being absolutely miserable all day long, not twisting and turning, not stretching and popping my neck (I know I shouldn't, but I get so stiff it is just a voluntary reaction to the pain). I read these boards religiously and I have tried many of the meds that others have written about, but nothing, absolutely nothing has worked for me. Lyrica did nothing but make me extremely dizzy, Skylaxin did nothing, Ultram did nothing but made me talk everyone's head off (smile), Gabapentin made me feel high, Cymbalta did nothing...I think these are all I have tried. I normally take 16 Advil per day...4 each/4 times a day and I know that's not good, but it was the only thing that even remotely helped along with Active On which I cannot live without!!! So over the weekend I was reading the boards and someone mentioned Provigil. I read up on it and went to my doctor yesterday after 4 straight days in bed on a heating pad...some way to spend a long Holiday weekend! He gave me two weeks of samples along with a prescription and I took my first one this morning. It may be psychological, but I'll take psychological if this is what it feels like!!!! smile... I have had ZERO Advil today and it is 9:45pm EST!!!!! I have had one Provigil and used my Active On when I felt myself getting stiff. I never thought I would feel better. Today proved me wrong. I hope and pray this continues so I can get back to this wonderful thing called LIFE!!! smile... Thanks for taking time to read this and thank you to whoever's post I read about Provigil!!! May everyone's pain diminish, if even ever so slightly...

good for you. I know the feeling. I just started a new med, effexar, and I have had a few good days lately too after a few years of no good days. I was estattic. I don't think my days were quite as good as yours though but I did lose 75% of the pain in my shoulders and that is good!. Just today I got a cortazone shot in my really bad knee so I should be laughing soon....I hope? LOL

Effexxor works best for me ---one problem, I max out meds and build an immunity--so the doctor kept me on it because its the only one that somewhat works--so I take that along with Lyrica.
