I am trying to get pregnant. I am 37 years old I have 3 children they are 20,18 and 13. I have been on the pill for 13 years now. The first day of my last period was 8/19/08, and I started my pills on sunday 8/24/08 my last day taking the pill was on saturday8/31/08.My period started on 9/2/08. So with all that being said. Is this my real period? So will I be ovulating on 9/15/08? How soon until I can become pregnant? And is there anything I may do to speed up the process? Natural herbs? I am already taking fish oil and prenatal vitamins.

I'm not quite sure that 9/2 would be considered your "real period". It may be your body adjusting to you getting off of your pill. Don't quote me on it though.

When I got off the pill after 4+ years my period stayed the same 28 days as the pill cycle even though before I had a longer period. It could very well be your real period. Supposedly the pill helps keep your eggs fertile (at least that's what my nurse pract. said). It's still possible it may take a few months to get your natural cycle back, so I would suggest trying the ovulation test strips to see when you ovulate.

gail708~ What have you found out on this? I took the first pill in my pack last night and want to not take anymore. I know, I should have not taken it last night but my DH wasn't sure if he was ready to TTC. I take my temps every morning to chart ovulation, but was wondering what you found out on this. How long did the bleeding last?
