Hi!

Just read your post, so hopefully you will eventually! I just started Xenical today. So far, so good, but then again, it's only been the first day! If you want, I will keep you posted of my progress. This is the one thing that will really help me lose weight because quite frankly, the prospect of soiling myself if I don't eat properly is a pretty strong argument for me to eat well! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

If you go on it as well, perhaps we can be each other's support! I'd love a Xenical buddy to share with!

I would love for you to keep me posted on your progress with Xenical...I just had a baby 3 weeks ago and am dead set to lose weight. Even if I dont go on Xenical, we could compare progress of me trying to lose weight without Xenical vs you with Xenical.

Hi Paramedik!

Well, I'm at the end of day 3 on the Xenical. To be honest, I don't know if it's working or not. Either I'm staying within the fat I'm allowed, which is 30g a day, or it's all going to come rushing out next week! Sorry to be gross.

I've been really good and only having the "right" things to eat, lots of fruit and veg, only a deck-of-cards-size portion of chicken or pork, no red meat, etc...the initial hunger pangs have subsided and I have more energy already. I guess there's a lot to be said for cutting out the rubbish we eat!

Anyway, if things stay the same this time next week, I'm going to call my doctor, just to make sure all is well. If stuff is supposed to be happening and isn't, I want to know http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bang.gif hee hee Can't complain that it isn't though! Ick!

so you're still allowed 30grams of fat a day? Thats sounds completely reasonable. can you eat anything you want as long as you stay within 30grams/ say you decide to have 3 oreos is that considered a no no?

Hello,
I hate to be the voice of oppisition but, I was on Xenical for about a month. In the beginning I did fairly well, but the discharge was terrible. I never had loose stools but I had oily gas. You dont know when it is coming and sometimes you cant controll it. It is nasty and a pain, I ruined many clothes items. It doesnt wash out. You dont have to even let the gas out for the oily discharge to ruin your cloths. I hope you have better luck with it I just wanted you to be fore warned. I hope you have Tremendous success with it.
Take Care

You can have 3 oreos, but if those 3 oreos have your fat allotment, you have to basically starve the rest of the day or else you'll have the problems.

I have to say though, today as a test, I ate over my fat allowance. I had pasta with tomato sauce and cheddar over it, a real coke, and at dinner, a chili burger. So far, no problem, whatsoever. I think I'm going to call my doctor tomorrow to see if I'm doing this correctly.

I'll keep you posted. With my luck, I'm doing this all completely wrong!

i checked out meridias website and it said that the average weight loss after 12 months on meridia is 10 lbs...I hope they mean ten lbs per month because for as expensive as meridia is 10 lbs isnt much at all. I looked at Xenicals website and i didnt have any information like that.

Hey Paramedik!

Well, it's the end of my first week and I've lost 10lbs and 2 inches off my waist already! The day after I purposely ate high fat I paid for it! Sooooo, the pill does work after all! Don't think I'll be repeating that anymore! Anyway, it's much nicer to have a weight loss and eat properly!

I'm not expecting these sorts of results every week, but it's a great start and a real morale boost!

Hi Amy!

I'm new here and saw that you are taking xenical and seem to be doing very well on it. I will be starting it tomorrow and was wondering if you are still having success with it since your last post was almost two weeks ago. I know that a low fat diet is crucial in order to avoid the yucky side effects. Have you experienced much of this? I guess I'm a bit weary of this and am looking to talk to someone who is currently using it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif

I took Xenical for 2-3 months and lost about 35 pounds.I started taking it when it first came out on the market.I watched exactly what I ate coz I knew if I didnt...whew http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Undigested fat is orange, not purdy..I know you wanted to hear that..sowi!I stopped taking it due to the cost and at the time there were no samples and my insurance wouldn't cover the cost.If you watch exactly and I mean EXACTLY what you eat, omitting as much fat from your diet you can lose weight.I would be cautious about Meridia and increase in blood pressure etc...As far as I know Xenical has no side effects other than the oil and frequent bathrm visits..

Hi Paramedik, Gypsy, and Jasmine!

I wanted to be sure before I posted again, so I had to go to my doctor to be weighed because I just couldn't believe it...

OK, I've been on Xenical since November 8th. I have since lost 52lbs, and 5 inches off my waist. I used to wear a GAP Reverse fit jean size 20, I am now in a 14.

I thought there must have been a fluke with my scale, but my doctor got the same result when she weighed me. I don't expect this to happen for the rest of the time I'm on it, but it's a heck of a start!

For Gypsy, make sure you keep to your allotted fat intake--the oranges aren't nice! EW!

I'll post again a a week or two when I've started my second course of pills and let you all know how it's going.

All I can say it that I LOVE Xenical! It's helped me a lot and I will be forever grateful to my doctor. Another good thing...because I live in the UK, I don't have to pay full price for it. I pay £6.20 a month and that's it, so that contributes a lot to my success too. If I'd been living back in the states again, I'd never have been able to afford it.

Anyway, I hope you're all well! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hi, I was on xenical almost 2 years ago. I didn't see any results from it and was on it for 6-8 months but my hair is always oily now. Diet supplements never really did work for me though. My oldest sister was on it and she had some results with it. My youngest sister ordered me a program that I will start on monday. It's called " The Smart Technique" This system trains your mind to eat healthier. All it is is a book and 6 cassette tapes and it relaxes you and puts good eating habits in your mind. I'm starting on it monday and will keep ya'll updated on my progres. Becky

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for all the info. It really helps to hear your personal experiences so thanks for being so honest about it. I'm still a bit apprehensive about it and have yet to start taking them. Maybe I will see how I do without them first.

Amy, congrats on the loss! Keep it up, that must make you feel so great!

Take care everyone, and I will keep posting on my progress.

I was happy to see the discussion on Zenical. I just started taking it last Saturday. I had heard bout the uncontrollable movements and the oily discharge so just to be safe I used sanitary pads for a couple of days until I could figure out my limit on fat intake. Still gross if you have an accident, but it saves your clothes. And when I feel the urge I get to the bathroom fast.

I look forward to seeing how it works.

Amy wow!!

Iv'e been taking it for a whle but I think i'm taking it wrong! The only time I take it is when I have a meal thats kinda fatty. Should I be taking it at EVERY meal?? Even if I eat a meal thats really low in fat?? I only eat two meals a day (I'm NOT a breakfast person) If I eat a snack should I take it??

Also will insurance pay for this? It cost sooo much money and I have 110# to lose! any help would be great!!

have to have prescription for it--costs about 120 a month --if you go to xenical site, can call a number and get three months free if you buy three months

When I first began to diet I used Xenical on top of watching what I ate, plus walking. In just a few months I went from 290 lbs to 212 pounds.

I haven't used Xenical since I first ran out of prescription.. but I'm gonna go to my doctor this week to get some.

I recommend Xenical all the way!

I REALLY wanna know what Xenical does to the currently stored fat ...is that what you people call "undigested" fat?

What happens if you take Xenical without eating anything?
